RWT Consulting Group's client is a major player in renewable energy, looking to bring on board a Legal Counsel for their Energy/EPC Division.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Legal Counsel with experience in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy projects in the U.S., with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction (“EPC”), subcontractor, and supply agreements reporting to the General Counsel.
Job Duties
- Comprehensive legal support throughout the lifecycle of projects from inception through final acceptance, including drafting and negotiating a variety of renewable energy project-related contracts, such as EPC agreements, subcontractor and supplier agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, leases, etc.
- Management of legal disputes between project owners, subcontractors, suppliers, third parties, etc.
- General corporate housekeeping, such as preparing simple resolutions, filings, etc.
- Legal advice to ensure compliance with regulatory matters and internal policies.
- Management of relationship with external advisers.
- Other unlisted duties may be required.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing of Texas State Bar.
- 5+ years of experience in the renewable and/or conventional energy industry in a top tier law firm and/or in the legal department of a leading renewable energy company.
- Effectively manage tasks and deadlines independently.
- Ability to interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, decision‑making, project management and negotiating skills.
- Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
