We are seeking a Legal & Claims Manager to join our Professional Services Practice (PSP). This is a hybrid role working 2 to 3 days from our New York, NY office.

What the day will look like

Our Professional Services Practice serves many of the world’s leading law firms, accounting firms and management consulting firms. We help clients design and place Professional Liability, Cyber Liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Management Liability (D&O), Fiduciary, and Property and Casualty (P&C) coverages.

As a Legal & Claims Manager you will lead complex claim advocacy and collections for PSP clients, helping them achieve optimal outcomes on high‑impact claims.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 10 years of insurance‑related experience with a strong focus on claims, coverage and/or litigation involving:
    • Lawyers professional liability / legal malpractice (E&O) and/or other professional services E&O; and
    • One or more of: accountants E&O, management consultants E&O, cyber liability, EPL, or D&O/management liability or Property and Casualty (P&C)
  • Demonstrated experience advocating on complex or disputed claims, including direct negotiation with insurers.
  • Strong legal and insurance coverage background, including review and interpretation of policy wording.
  • Experience working for or with law firms, insurers, or brokers on E&O or financial lines claims is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications; comfort working with claim data and reports and communicating data‑driven insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex coverage and claim issues to non‑lawyers and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

Education

  • JD or equivalent graduate degree required.
  • Bar admission is a plus but not required.

Pay Transparency Laws

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $135,000 to $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
