Legal AI Solutions Lead | Up to $230K + Bonus | Hybrid | EST/ CST Timezone
The opportunity
A leading law firm is rapidly expanding its AI team and is hiring two Senior AI Solutions professionals. The firm is investing heavily in AI, with the Chief AI and Innovation Officer, the Chairperson and other C-level leaders directly involved in the team's direction. This is an early-stage team, so you'll have a real voice and your work will reach practice areas across the firm.
You'll build custom AI solutions for legal work, writing real code instead of configuring off-the-shelf tools. You'll also help set the standard for how the firm tests, measures and trusts AI in a legal setting.
What's in it for you?
- Up to $230K base salary plus discretionary bonus
- Report to the Chief AI Innovation Officer
- Work for a stable global law firm with over 150 years of history
- Join a rapidly growing AI & Innovation team that has expanded due to increasing demand across the business
- Opportunity to build AI solutions, drive adoption, and create measurable business impact rather than simply support users
What you'll do
- Write custom code and work directly with APIs to build and test AI workflows for large-scale legal document analysis
- Design and develop RAG pipelines
- Run AI evaluations, including tool-based verification, connecting LLMs to deterministic verification tools and building auto-evaluation metric pipelines
- Work with attorneys and practice groups to turn legal problems into reliable, working AI solutions
- Keep a close eye on the legal AI market, and advise on how the firm's tools (Harvey, Legora, Co-Counsel, Lexis AI and others) compare and where each fits
What you'll bring
- A legal background. A JD is strongly preferred, ideally with time spent practising as an attorney
- Hands-on experience building with AI, with depth mattering more than years (2 to 3 years is enough)
- Strong Python and experience working directly with APIs and LLMs
- Proven experience building RAG pipelines and evaluating AI output
- Credibility with attorneys, and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- A track record of stable tenure, with real depth of experience beyond one or two personal projects
This firm can hire out of the following cities where they have offices:
- Charlotte, Richmond, Tysons, Washington DC, New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Dallas, Houston.
