Position Details

The Lecturer-Pool Faculty will teach graduate courses within theMaster of Physician Assistant Studies program, depending on anapplicant’s academic background, experience, and licensure. Poolfaculty contracts are for one semester based on departmental needsbut may be renewed based on performance and need. Departmental needis driven by student enrollment and internal workloadcommitments.

Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

The Lecturer-Pool Faculty will teach graduate courses within theMaster of Physician Assistant Studies program, depending on anapplicant’s academic background, experience, and licensure. Poolfaculty contracts are for one semester based on departmental needsbut may be renewed based on performance and need. Departmental needis driven by student enrollment and internal workloadcommitments.

Educational Requirements for the Position

All candidates should possess excellent oral, written, andinterpersonal communication skills and the ability to workeffectively as a team member. Must have knowledge and the abilityto comply with accreditation standards related to evaluation andassessment. Physician Assistant with the following:

  • Master’s degree from an ARC -PA accredited program.
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Current license or eligibility for licensing as a physicianassistant in the State of Texas.

OR

Physician with the following:

  • A Doctor of Medicine/Osteopathy with a full unrestricted MDlicense or eligibility to obtain such licensure in the State ofTexas.

OR

Non-clinician Scientist or Health Professional with the following:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a health or science relatedfield.

Experience Required for the Position
