The Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling, Rehabilitation and Interpreter Training position in the College of Education & Behavioral Sciences is primarily responsible for teaching specialized graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling and other counseling specialties; pursuit of a scholarship and research agenda; service on committees at all levels; involvement in service to the community; advising graduate students; and supervising Practicum and Internship students.
Minimum Qualifications
* Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program by the date of appointment.
* Professional identity as a counselor demonstrated through academic preparation, professional experience, and engagement in the counseling profession.
* Eligibility for counselor licensure in Alabama (e.g., LPC or equivalent).
* Academic preparation and/or professional experience in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a closely related counseling specialty.
* Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor graduate counseling students in an online learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Current professional counselor licensure (LPC or equivalent).
* Experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited counselor education program.
* Experience supervising practicum and internship students consistent with CACREP standards.
* Evidence of scholarship, research, grant activity, presentations, or publications in counseling or counselor education (required for tenure-track consideration).
* Experience with online instruction, student retention initiatives, program assessment, and accreditation processes.
