Job DescriptionThe Lease Accountant is responsible for managing and accounting for all lease-related transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASC 842 / IFRS 16), and supporting accurate financial reporting and audit requirements.Key Responsibilities:Lease Accounting & ReportingReview and analyze lease agreements (real estate, equipment, etc.)Determine proper lease classification and accounting treatmentCalculate and record: Lease liabilitiesRight-of-use (ROU) assetsAmortization schedules and interest expenseJournal Entries & Close ProcessPrepare monthly lease-related journal entries (rent expense, amortization, interest)Support month-end and quarter-end close activitiesEnsure all lease transactions are recorded accurately and timelyReconciliations & ControlsReconcile lease-related GL accounts (ROU assets, lease liabilities, prepaid rent, deposits)Maintain accurate lease subledger and supporting schedulesEnsure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirementsLease Portfolio ManagementMaintain lease database and ensure data accuracyTrack lease modifications, renewals, and terminationsCollaborate with Real Estate, Legal, Procurement, and AP teams to gather lease informationFinancial Analysis & SupportSupport budgeting and forecasting for lease-related expensesProvide variance analysis and reporting insightsCompensation:A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 - 90,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
