The Learning Technologist, Associate provides administrative, technical, and instructional support to enhance technology-integrated teaching and learning via all modalities of instruction. The position primarily provides direct support to instructors and students through one-on-one appointments and response to helpdesk tickets. The Learning Technologist, Associate assists with testing new learning technologies, reviewing training materials, and delivering professional training via webinars, workshops, or conferences.
The Learning Technologist, Associate is expected to stay abreast of trends in learning technologies.
On an as-needed basis, the Learning Technologist, Associate, may represent the Learning Technology area on various committees, councils and working groups.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
Basic job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Respond to tickets and help requests from students and instructors in a timely manner.
Provide daily support to enhance technology-enabled teaching and learning.
Provide one-on-one support to instructors on technological and pedagogical practices related to learning technologies.
Employ problem solving skills to research solutions to tickets and help requests.
Review support materials for learning technologies for students and instructors.
Assist with testing new technology implementations.
Assist with documentation of learning technologies.
Provide feedback on the design and delivery of professional development and training opportunities that support teaching and learning.
Research and recommend new technologies and strategies.
Attend and present at professional conferences, webinars, and workshops.
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Instructional Design or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience providing technical support
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Superior technical aptitude and ability to adapt quickly to changes in technology
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and follow systematic problem-solving approaches
- Proficiency with common office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar)
- Familiarity with the tools and systems commonly used by learning technologists
- Learning management systems (Brightspace, Canvas, etc.)
- Media hosting systems (Kaltura)
- Web conferencing systems (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc)
- Digital courseware
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Minimum of 2 years' experience providing technical support in an educational setting
- Experience using and supporting the tools and systems commonly used by learning technologists
- Learning management systems (Brightspace, Canvas, etc.)
- Media hosting systems (Kaltura)
- Web conferencing systems (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc)
- Digital courseware
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Plagiarism detection tools (Turnitin)
- Accessibility tools and standards (Ally, WCAG, ADA compliance)
- Proctoring software (Respondus)
- Superior technical aptitude and ability to adapt quickly to changes in technology
- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira or similar)
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge or experience with course design
