The work we have primarily revolves around 2 to 6 month projects that range from CMS driven websites that aim to engage gamers to creating online second screen experiences for our games. We make use of the latest standards and technology in web development such as Symfony 2, Grails, SASS, GULP, AngularJS and NodeJS. We live and breath agile and firmly believe in creating clean, testable code. Our group possesses a flexibility that is not found anywhere else within our organization. Contrary to the rumors, we encourage a strong work/life balance where developers are respected for their ideas and opinions.This specific position will revolve around being a front end expert for one of our five teams.
The role will require you to:Help with the development of our marketing websitesCoding ~90% of the timeHelping define coding standards and best practices ~10% of the timeEnsure the quality of the product produced by the teams through code reviews, unit and functional test coverageBe able to write elegant, readable, and well-documented code.Ensure that other developers are following to best practicesEnsuring that the team is sharing code/components/best practices with other teamsMentoring less experienced developersHelping define front end solutions for new projects and estimating the effort required to do soA scrappy, entrepreneurial attitude and drive that gets high-quality projects in a timely fashionWork with the team lead in deeply understanding the business ecosystem, identifying problems and devising solutionsA need to have a very high care factor for the work you doBasic QualificationsExpert in HTML5 and CSS3Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ year relevant work experience8+ years professional experience as a front end developer2+ years in the role of a team leaderComputer Science fundamentals in data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysisExperience using Angular JS, Javascript, SASS/LESSExperience Agile/ScrumExperience creating responsive websitesExperience using GITUnderstanding of how to create performant websitesA drive to keep up with the latest technology both at work and at homePreferred QualificationsExperience with Symfony 2 or ZendExperience with mentoring and making technical presentationsExperience explaining technical concepts to non-technical peopleKnowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testingAbility to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the projectExperience working with a distributed teamSkills and CertificationsHTML5CSS3AngularJSAgileAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
