Lead Wastewater Collections Operator
We are seeking a Lead Wastewater Collections Operator to oversee a team of Wastewater Collections Operators. This role requires strong experience in sewer (collections) plumbing, field operations, and team leadership. Pay: $20-$30/hr
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement
- Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Class 3 Distribution Operator License
- FWPCA Class C Collections License
- Experience in maintenance of collection and distribution systems
- Construction experience, including managing crews
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Plumbing experience
- Sewer (collections) plumbing experience
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and supervise field personnel on daily operations and job sites
- Conduct pre-task planning and hazard analysis to ensure team safety
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot wastewater collection systems (sewer lines, manholes, valves, lift stations)
- Perform sewer line cleaning, repairs, and new installations
- Respond to work orders, field issues, and customer inquiries
- Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule (including weekends/holidays)
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, jet vac trucks, dump trucks, etc.)
- Perform trench work, excavation, backfilling, and site restoration
- Complete inspections, documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and permitting standards
- Perform preventative maintenance and assist with system repairs
