The voice engineer level 3 takes part in timely execution of project implementation of IP PBX, VOIP solutions, Video/Voice conferencing, telephony and contact center applications, and other IT related software and applications. Product scope includes but not limited to Avaya, Cisco, NEC, Cisco WEBEX and Nortel Legacy systems.
Voice Engineer level 3 will be responsible for troubleshooting complex multi layer network issues that affect voices services with IT department and must have a deep knowledge of data networking.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input on projects; designing, implementing, and supporting mission critical corporate networks and complex converged infrastructures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco Communication Manager in a Clustered Solution; Cisco Unity and Unified Messaging, Cisco UCCX, Call Recording in a large VoIP environment.
- Participate in the planning, designing, implementation and management of projects that include new locations or deploying new technologies across the network.
- Handle routine tasks relating to Telephony operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off‑site and/or remote locations.
- Contribute to the development methodologies for analysis, installation, and support quality assurance and testing of transmission mediums and infrastructure components.
- Coordinate the acquisition and installation of telephony hardware and software.
- Support the maintenance of architectural documentation for Montefiore's voice infrastructure.
- Participate on regular on‑call rotation.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical and procedural documentation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine business requirements and recommend voice services.
- Participate in business continuity planning for infrastructure.
- Execution of moves, adds and changes and end‑user support.
- Participate in evaluation and selection of new software and hardware.
- Coordinate with the Help Desk to respond to questions.
Requirements
- High school/GED required, Associate degree preferred
- 7 years work experience in Cisco unified communications required
- Cisco CCENT or CCNA recommended or minimum of 7 years experience in Cisco VOIP deployments.
- Candidate must attain the following Cisco Certifications within 36 months to secure employment:
- Cisco CCT Collaboration
- Cisco CCNA
- Working knowledge of Layer 3 Transport and Networking Concepts.
- Working experience with call center programming for Cisco UCCX (other Call Center product experience will be considered) and Verint or Imagicle Quality Recording (other QA product experience will be considered).
- Demonstrated familiarity of PBX telephone systems and voice mail systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a telecom and backbone network infrastructure (i.e., local & long‑distance telco's, telco products, TFN's, QoS, Routing etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders, as well as relay complex technical concepts to a non‑technical audience, including senior leadership.
- History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with critical attention to detail.
