Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Structured Cabling Lead Technician to join our team. Based in Hicksville, NY , most of our projects are located in New York City . The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in setting the example for their team. They're the person others count on to show up early, stay organized, and get the job done right the first time.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Set the standard for punctuality and professionalism , ensuring teams arrive on time and ready to work.
- Ensure all work is performed to industry standards and project specifications.
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and clients to deliver quality installations.
- Maintain accountability for project timelines, quality of work, and crew performance including but not limited to daily job reports, timesheets and punch lists.
- Maintain and manage tools, materials, and company vehicle (if applicable).
- 8-10 years of experience in structured cabling/low voltage systems.
- Must be able to read Blueprints
- Proficiency in terminating and testing fiber
- Proficiency in terminating and testing copper cabling systems.
- Experience with access control termination (a plus).
- Proven ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and resolve issues in the field
- Must be highly dependable, punctual, and organized - this role sets the pace for the crew.
- Valid driver's license ; willingness to drive a company van (a plus).
- Strong communication skills to keep both team members and management aligned.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
