We are seeking an experienced Lead Restoration Technician / Crew Chief with strong IICRC alignment to oversee field mitigation projects and lead restoration teams in accordance with IICRC S500 and S700 standards.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled restoration professional who understands drying science, leads from the front, and holds teams accountable for quality and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead water damage restoration, fire and smoke mitigation, and related remediation projectsDirect daily jobsite operations for technicians and subcontractorsPerform and verify moisture inspections, moisture mapping, and psychrometric calculationsDetermine appropriate drying, cleaning, containment, and deodorization strategies in coordination with Project ManagementSet up, monitor, and adjust drying, filtration, and air scrubber equipmentOversee controlled demolition and removal per approved scopeEnforce PPE usage, containment, and cross-contamination controlConduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with IICRC standards and company SOPsDocument moisture readings, equipment placement, job progress, and photos using restoration softwareCommunicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and internal teamsTrain, mentor, and evaluate technicians at all skill levelsRequired Qualifications3–5+ years of experience in restoration, mitigation, or disaster recoveryDemonstrated leadership or crew lead experienceValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environmentsAvailability for emergency response and on-call rotationPreferred QualificationsIICRC WRT and FSRT required; ASD, AMRT, or additional certifications strongly preferredStrong understanding of drying science, psychrometrics, and material behaviorExperience with insurance-driven restoration and adjuster coordinationProficiency in restoration documentation and job management softwareExperience assisting with job scoping, supplements, and scope validationWhy Join ServiceMaster Restore?Competitive compensation with overtime potentialCompany-supported advanced IICRC certification and leadership trainingClear advancement path to Project Manager, Estimator, Operations Manager, or Senior LeadershipStable, year-round work in essential disaster recovery servicesOpportunity to lead meaningful projects that directly help communities recoverServiceMaster Restore franchise locations are independently owned and operated.ServiceMaster Assured Cleaning and Restoration of Reading, PA, is committed to excellence and dependability.
