Lead Software Engineer - Python & AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience
• We need strong Java development expertise with object-oriented programming principles and substantial Spring Boot experience
• We value proven experience designing and tuning distributed systems for low-latency production processing
• We look for hands-on experience with AWS services such as MSK/Kafka, SQS, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Kinesis Video/Data Streams, RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift in resilient, large-scale architectures
• We require practical experience delivering alerting, monitoring, and reporting solutions with Datadog, Dynatrace, and/or Splunk in production environments
• We expect solid engineering fundamentals, including API design, disciplined testing, and debugging in live systems
• We seek proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, with strong emphasis on Java, and the ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code
• We require strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes
• We need the ability to communicate engineering tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• We expect demonstrated experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with strong validation standards for correctness, performance, and security
• We look for a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security controls, plus experience coaching others on compliant usage

• We architect and deliver low-latency, high-throughput Java Spring Boot distributed services with production-grade APIs
• We design and build resilient cloud-native service architectures with high-availability targets using AWS compute, messaging, streaming, database, and storage services
• We create and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform and/or CloudFormation for scalable, repeatable, and auditable cloud deployments
• We implement and continuously improve observability capabilities, including alerting, monitoring, and reporting, using Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk
• We translate ambiguous or evolving requirements into stable, well-modeled service designs and explain engineering tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders
• We lead technical design reviews, define engineering best practices, and promote standards that improve operability, reliability, and maintainability
• We own production outcomes end to end by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, reliability gaps, and scalability constraints through automation and runbook-driven operations
• We partner with machine learning engineers and data scientists to understand platform needs and deliver production-ready solutions
• We mentor engineers across the team and foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and engineering excellence
• We drive governance and adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results
