Overview

Epsilon is looking for a Lead Engineer to help drive the design, delivery, technical strategy, and execution of core capabilities for Epsilon Clean Room, our privacy‑first data collaboration platform. In this role, you will lead through technical expertise, partner closely with product, architecture, and engineering stakeholders, and build scalable solutions that enable secure, data‑rich collaboration for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver large‑scale cloud‑native data platforms primarily on AWS using REST APIs, microservices, and event‑driven applications to build highly scalable and resilient systems.
  • Work hands‑on across the technology stack, including Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Express.js, AWS services, event‑driven architecture, and SQL/NoSQL databases, to solve complex engineering challenges and maintain platform excellence.
  • Partner closely with global engineering, product management, architecture, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic business objectives.
  • Own the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, deployment, observability, and documentation.
  • Lead product‑wide technical initiatives focused on performance optimization, scalability, reliability, security, governance, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining large‑scale production applications.
  • Architecture: Proven expertise in distributed systems, microservices design, and building robust REST APIs.
  • Tech‑Stack: Strong hands‑on proficiency across the modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem, including modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js) and server‑side runtimes/frameworks like Node.js, Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
  • Data: Comprehensive experience with event‑driven architectures and messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS), alongside broad proficiency across relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Aurora, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Infrastructure: Deep experience building cloud‑native applications on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), utilizing core services for object storage, serverless compute, API management, and event routing.
  • DevOps: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible, CI/CD pipeline automation, and comprehensive testing strategies.
  • AI: Practical experience leveraging agent‑assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to optimize software delivery velocity without compromising on code quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise‑grade, highly scalable distributed systems.
  • Data: Hands‑on experience with modern, big data platforms and processing frameworks such as Databricks, Snowflake, or PySpark.
  • AI: Practical exposure to Generative AI architectures, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and autonomous agentic systems.

Benefits

Base Salary: $119,600.00 - $222,000.00 Annually.

  • Time to Recharge: Flexible time off (FTO), 15 paid holidays
  • Time to Recover: Paid sick time
  • Family Well-Being: Parental/new child leave, childcare & elder care assistance, adoption assistance
  • Extra Perks: Comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), tuition assistance, commuter benefits, professional development, employee recognition, charitable donation matching, health coaching and counseling
