Lead Software Engineer - Java/Spring Boot

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Proven hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java
• Practical experience building and maintaining microservices with Spring Boot, including REST APIs with JSON, dependency injection, configuration management, and actuator-based monitoring
• Strong capability in automation and continuous delivery practices
• Prior experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL
• Well-versed in the full Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption

• Deliver creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while approaching problems beyond routine or conventional methods
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by other engineers
• Drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes while promoting consistent validation standards and reuse of effective patterns
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value
• Identify opportunities to eliminate recurring issues or automate remediation to improve the stability of software applications and systems
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture
