Lead Software Developer – Threat Modeling & Simulation Portfolio
Leidos is seeking a talented lead software developer to work on multiple modeling and simulation projects within the Threat Modeling and Simulation Portfolio. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and junior‑to‑senior developers to create solutions for sensor characterization, modeling, simulation, data analysis, and algorithm development for electro‑optical infrared (EO/IR) systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Write software primarily in C++ and C# to solve multidisciplinary problems for EO/IR sensor systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists, communicate effectively, and work on multiple concurrent tasks, ensuring quality across Windows and Linux operating systems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree with relevant software development experience.
- Strong object‑oriented programming experience and proficiency in C++.
- Experience in software design principles and version control with Git.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- 4–8 years of related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience or interest in C#, Python, design documentation, requirement specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of EO/IR phenomenology, image processing, Kalman filtering, GPU or CUDA programming, AI/ML solutions, or build systems such as CMake.
- Preference for candidates with recent academic performance, SECRET clearance or above, or TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $87,100.00 – $157,450.00 (general guideline only). Compensation is based on role responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity. Benefits include competitive wages, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, retirement plans, and more.
