Lead Software Engineer - Common Components

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We seek someone with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of practical experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• You should be advanced in one or more programming languages.
• We value demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We look for a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations, plus experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoption.
• You should be proficient across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• We expect advanced understanding of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We require in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• We look for practical cloud-native experience.
• Preferred: advanced experience in Java.
• Preferred: experience building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms used by other engineering teams.
• Preferred: experience with agent-native tooling, including MCP and LLM tooling, and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Preferred: contributions to open-source or internal shared-library ecosystems.

• We execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using approaches beyond the routine to solve complex technical problems.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while maintaining consistent validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
• We apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value gained from automation.
• We identify opportunities to remove or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
