Job OverviewnA client of Insight Global is seeking a Lead Shop Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations and support the maintenance and repair of a large fleet of excavation equipment. This individual will play a key leadership role, ensuring equipment reliability, managing shop personnel, and maintaining efficient workflows.nnKey Responsibilitiesnn- Manage and lead a shop team of 3 mechanics, providing guidance and oversightn- Oversee maintenance and repair for a fleet of ~120 pieces of equipment (primarily John Deere and Kenworth)n- Perform and ensure completion of DOT inspectionsn- Conduct routine equipment inspections and implement preventative maintenance plansn- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issuesn- Utilize software diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipmentn- Coordinate and execute service calls as neededn- Develop equipment repair schedules and lookahead plansn- Order parts and manage inventory of shop suppliesn- Ensure shop organization, safety, and operational efficiency
