Job Summary
- Lead service team members while performing serving duties to provide exceptional customer service in the dining room. Champion and follow good sequence of service methods by demonstrating hospitality.
- Lead stand‑up meetings to ensure the team is prepared to execute exceptional meal service and demonstrate a neat, presentable appearance while observing the Liberty dress code.
- Assist managers with scheduling front‑of‑house team members.
- Assist host and other servers with seating, ensuring seats are available when tenants arrive for meals.
- Set and clear tables, arrange seating, and set plates neatly with flatware, napkins, and placements.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of all china and flatware so that they are free of water spots and coffee stains.
- Assist tenants who need help selecting meals and provide proper cleaning of the dining room and serving area between meals and at the end of shifts.
- Follow proper sanitation schedules and perform tasks in accordance with established sanitary, safety, and infection‑control policies.
- Prepare and plate food items such as salads, soups, desserts, and hot/cold beverages.
- Keep serving‑area supplies stocked and rotate menus, guest charge tickets, resident‑declining dollars, point‑of‑sale items, and room‑service forms.
- Assist with dish and utensil washing, gather soiled items from carts and trays, and store clean items properly.
- Clean tables, chairs, vacuum dining areas, and sweep and mop kitchen floor areas.
- Perform all daily tasks in compliance with food‑safety standards, monitor temperature records, and report any issues promptly to dining supervisors.
- Assist with special events and activities held at Liberty Senior Living and maintain good relationships with tenants and guests.
- Report any items requiring repair and use applicable infection‑control procedures.
- Assist with tenant evacuations in case of emergency and support staff with event preparations and clean‑up.
- Collaborate closely with the Dining Room Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, cooks, and other staff to plan resident events.
- Attend in‑service training and other work‑related meetings as required or approved.
- Carry out special projects and help with any other areas of the building as needed.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma and a minimum of 6 months’ experience in a restaurant, hotel, or country club; willing to obtain food‑safety certification.
- Experience in a service‑oriented profession preferred.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Attend training and department meetings when necessary.
- Perform other duties as outlined by supervisor.
- Effectively deliver written and spoken instruction on a regular basis.
