Shift Leader
Serves as a Shift Leader who is an assistant to the Guard Shift Supervisor.
Conduct foot or vehicle patrols of perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas as well as storage, administrative and other structures as designated.
Ensures incident scenes are preserved for law enforcement investigators and provides written reports of findings based on criminal incidents to the supervisor.
Provides on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures.
Detains violators, identifies witnesses and renders first aid to the injured commensurate with training and certifications.
Maintains duty journal and prepares written reports of unusual situations and conditions encountered.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance level using a Tier 3 background investigation.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
Employee and prospective employee are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct; and when being considered for employment and periodically thereafter, they must be assessed under the Individual Reliability Program.
Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
Employee must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and must know first aid. May act as a first responder in a medical emergency.
This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
Incumbent must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform.
Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
