Job TitleJob TitleJob DescriptionPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop comprehensive project plans that define scope, objectives, engineering resources, equipment requirements, cost estimates, and timelines. Leads engineering projects by coordinating cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to ensure timely execution and alignment with organizational goals.Provide expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and ISO regulations. Identifies and resolves technical issues that arise, supporting production as needed.Establishes and monitors project budgets and schedules, adjusting to meet deadlines and financial objectives while preparing comprehensive documentation, including plans and progress reports.Acts as the primary liaison for clients, stakeholders, and team members, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Delivers project progress reports to various management levels, keeping all parties informed.Proactively identifies potential project risks and develops mitigation strategies.

Ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for timely, cost-effective execution and coordinates project Gate reviews to align initiatives with stakeholder expectations.Assists with manufacturing transfer of successful products, including documentation, training and specification of equipment.Travels to customers, vendors and other Coherent sites as-required.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering, materials, or science field requiredAt least 6 years' experience in engineering-related technical or project supportPMP or CAPM certification preferredSkillsExperience with manufacturing and product development required.Experience processing and/or machining of advanced materials (ceramics, metal matrix composites, other) a strong plus.Knowledge of machining methods, including milling, turning, diamond grinding, EDM, laser, lapping and/or ultrasonic necessary.Knowledge of design software, e.g., CAD (ProE/Creo, SolidWorks, other), CAM (MasterCam, SurfCam, GibbsCam, other), and CMM (PC-DIMS, Calyspo) important.Aptitude for external interfacing with both vendors and customers is required.Working ConditionsPosition is in manufacturing environment and requires on-site activities (this is not a work from home position).Work schedule is 5 days, 40 hrs per week, first shift.Physical RequirementsRequired to lift/push/pull a minimum of 35 lbsMust be able to sit, bend, squat and walk about facilityDepending on project assignment, may be required to walk/stand for entire 8 hour day (e.g., during production trials)Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
