In office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST.YOUR ROLEAs an IT team member, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing technology solutions that are the foundation of the world-class customer service our customers expect and deserve—now and in the future.As the Lead Platform Architect, Cloud, you will play a critical role in defining how the organization designs and operates infrastructure in the cloud. You will lead the architecture of cloud infrastructure platforms, ensuring they are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise standards.You will partner closely with Engineering, Service Operations, Security, and the Cloud Platform Team to establish clear patterns and guardrails that enable teams to move faster while maintaining consistency across the environment.This role, working on the Infrastructure Platform Architecture team and reporting to the Director of Platform Architecture, will participate in the development of the overall IT strategy that guides the adoption, deployment, and realization of technologies, services, and capabilities implemented in support of the business strategy.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGParticipates in the Enterprise Architecture group that is responsible for defining and maintaining product and architectural standards for technology servicesDefine and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure architecture, including:Landing zones and shared servicesEnvironment design and segmentationIntegration with enterprise network and identity platformsDevelop and document cloud infrastructure reference architectures and reusable patternsLead design for complex, cross-tower initiatives involving cloud, network, identity, and operationsEnsure cloud designs are scalable, resilient, and aligned to business needs and enterprise standardsPartner with Network, Identity, Datacenter, and Security architects to ensure end-to-end infrastructure cohesionDefine cloud connectivity patterns (hybrid, multi-region, SaaS integration)Ensure alignment between cloud architecture and enterprise infrastructure strategyEvaluate and guide workload placement decisions across cloud and on-prem environmentsPromote reusable, automated infrastructure patterns instead of one-off buildsPartner with Engineering teams to improve platform usability and developer experienceMentor engineers and architects on cloud infrastructure best practicesWHAT YOU BRING5+ years of experience as an architect10+ years of experience in IT5+ years of experience in cloud technologies (AWS and Azure) with a proven record of leading implementation of those technologiesStrong experience with public cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale infrastructure architecturesDeep understanding of:Cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS)Networking (routing, segmentation, hybrid connectivity)Identity and access management conceptsFamiliarity with Infrastructure as CodeExperience in hybrid cloud and datacenter integrationFamiliarity with Zero Trust architecture principlesExperience working in a regulated enterprise environment (financial services, insurance, etc.)Employee Benefits & Well-BeingGenworth employees make a difference in people’s lives every day.
