Lead Pipeline MapperAudubon is currently seeking a Lead Pipeline Mapper to join our team in the Houston Office. The Lead Pipeline Mapper is responsible for leading a team in the development of pipeline mapping deliverables to support pipeline design and construction. This role ensures all mapping tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and cost-effectively with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities include the creation, development, and verification of preliminary, construction, and as-built drawings for pipelines and associated facilities. The position reports directly to the Mapping Manager or their designated representative.Primary Responsibilities:Lead a team in the preparation of various mapping drawings and documentation.Create, review, and validate drawings and base files required for: Alignment Sheets, Property Plats, Permit Drawings, HDD Plans, Typical Details, Vicinity Maps, Environmental and Erosion Control Plans, FERC Submittals, Mechanical Drawings (Mainline Valves, Side Taps, Launchers/Receivers).Assemble and deliver complete drawing packages (hard copy and digital) to clients and contractors.Plot and integrate property deeds; process survey and field-collected data.Utilize CAD and alignment sheet generation software to produce accurate and compliant drawings.Participate in client and contractor meetings; represent the mapping team in multi-disciplinary discussions.Conduct field visits as necessary to support project delivery and resolve discrepancies.Experience and Skill Requirements:Required Experience & EducationHigh School Diploma required.Post-secondary education or technical certification (1–4 years) preferred.Minimum of 8 years of direct experience in pipeline mapping/design.Minimum of 6 years using CAD tools in a professional setting.Technical SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.Experience with alignment sheet generators such as Skyline or Route MapperFamiliarity with GIS systems and Cadworx is a plus.Legally authorized to work in the U.S.Soft Skills & CompetenciesAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence in client-facing situations.Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.Strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy in all deliverables.Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
