Lead OCP Engineer

We are seeking a Lead OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Engineer to spearhead our cloud migration and modernization efforts. This individual will play a pivotal role in transitioning enterprise-grade applications from Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF/TAS) to OpenShift (OCP), ensuring seamless deployments and optimized cloud-native operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, hands-on configuration experience, and leadership skills necessary for guiding high-impact, enterprise-scale cloud transformations—especially within the Financial Services sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration of enterprise applications from PCF/TAS to OpenShift (OCP).
  • Architect and implement OCP-based solutions in collaboration with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
  • Define and maintain OCP configuration standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitHub Actions.
  • Utilize migration tools and frameworks such as Konveyor, Move2Kube, and OpenRewrite to support application modernization.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to Kubernetes deployments and networking (e.g., Helm, Calico).
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and developers.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 15+ years of total IT experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on expertise with OCP configuration and Kubernetes deployments.

  • Deep knowledge of PCF/TAS and OCP in large, enterprise application environments (Java,.NET).

  • Proven experience leading cloud migration projects, preferably within Financial Services.

  • Strong background in containerization, DevOps, and cloud-native development.

  • Proficient with migration tools such as Konveyor, Move2Kube, OpenRewrite.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Spinnaker, Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Kaniko, Helm charts, and Calico/Kubernetes networking.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with service mesh, Istio, or other advanced Kubernetes networking tools.

  • Certifications in Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), or cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

  • Experience in a lead role within Agile/Scrum environments.
