Title: Lead Software Engineer (React/.Net)

Onsite : 2-3 days a week

Type: Contract

Length : 12-18+ months

Work Authorization : This position requires direct W-2 employment. We are unable to consider C2C, 1099, or third-party candidates.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and lead the delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade healthcare applications. This role combines hands-on full-stack development with technical leadership , modernizing legacy systems, architecting cloud-native microservices, and delivering intuitive, high-performance user experiences. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in React front-end development , .NET Core backend systems , cloud platforms , and event-driven architectures , with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and compliance requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, modular enterprise applications supporting patient scheduling, onboarding, and clinical workflows.
  • Architect and modernize legacy systems into .NET Core 6/7 microservices, improving maintainability, performance, and extensibility.
  • Design and implement rule-driven, event-based microservices to support complex scheduling and real-time workflows.
  • Define and enforce best practices for code quality, performance, security, and scalability across teams.
  • Build and maintain modern front-end applications using React , delivering responsive, user-friendly experiences.
  • Develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core , integrating with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Integrate with external EHR systems using healthcare standards such as FHIR and HL7 .
  • Design CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps to automate testing, containerization, and deployment.
  • Ensure applications comply with HIPAA and healthcare data protection regulations , implementing secure authentication and role-based access control.
  • Optimize application performance through caching strategies, database indexing, and query optimization.
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and enforce secure development practices.
  • Partner closely with product managers, designers, business analysts, clinical teams, and senior leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead greenfield initiatives and deliver projects on time through structured planning, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to a strong engineering culture within Agile/Scrum teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on full-stack development .
  • Strong expertise in React for front-end development.
  • Deep experience with ASP.NET Core, C#, Web APIs , and microservices architecture.
  • Proven experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong experience with Azure , relational and NoSQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working in healthcare domains , including compliance and security considerations.

Preferred

  • Experience with Kafka , event-driven systems, and real-time data processing.
  • Familiarity with FHIR and HL7 healthcare integration standards.
  • Experience leading greenfield UI or platform initiatives.
  • Strong background in Agile delivery, mentoring engineers, and cross-functional collaboration.
