Through our 3 E's of Excellence - educate, equip and empower - we deliver personalized mental performance programming grounded in sport psychology research. Our diverse client base includes local organizations, club teams, high school athletes, and NCAA D3 university teams.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and relationship-driven Lead Mental Performance Consultant to serve as a senior member of our growing team.
This individual will lead the delivery of evidence-based mental performance programming to organizations, teams, coaches, and individual performers while helping shape the development of BHP's services and future consultants. In addition to maintaining their own client caseload, the Lead Consultant will mentor junior consultants, uphold BHP's standards of excellence, and contribute to the continued growth and innovation of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Client Programming & Consultation
- Deliver engaging mental performance workshops for partner organizations, teams, schools, and performance groups.
- Provide individual mental performance consulting for athletes and performers through virtual and in-person sessions.
- Conduct coach consultations to support positive team culture, leadership development, communication, and athlete well-being.
- Observe practices and competitions to provide individualized feedback and ongoing performance support.
- Build meaningful relationships with athletes, coaches, parents, and organizational leaders while serving as a trusted performance resource.
- Mentor and support BHP Mental Performance Consultants through regular supervision, feedback, and professional development.
- Provide guidance aligned with CMPC mentorship standards for consultants seeking professional growth.
- Assist with onboarding and training new consultants in BHP systems, philosophy, and service delivery.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning across the consulting team.
- Model professional excellence and represent the BHP mission and values in every client interaction.
Program Development
- Design and refine evidence-based workshops, presentations, and mental skills resources.
- Ensure programming remains engaging, research-informed, and accessible for diverse populations.
- Collaborate on the development of new programming surrounding topics including: pressure management, resilience, confidence, motivation, team cohesion, and more.
Organizational Growth
- Foster strong relationships with current partner organizations to encourage long‑term collaboration.
- Support business development through networking, presentations, referrals, and relationship building.
- Assist with strategic planning and identifying opportunities to expand BHP's services and impact.
- Contribute ideas that improve organizational systems, client experience, and consultant development
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree or higher in Sport & Performance Psychology, Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related field with a specialization in Sport & Performance Psychology.
- Minimum of two years of applied mental performance consulting experience following completion of a master's degree.
- Interest in serving as a CMPC mentor for consultants pursuing certification.
- Strong public speaking and workshop facilitation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build authentic, trusting relationships with athletes, coaches, parents, and organizational leaders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Encouraged but not required: Experience providing mentorship or supervision to developing consultants. Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Licensed Professional Counselor credentials.
