Lead Mechanical EngineerHexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive product development activities and champion mechanical engineering best practices. This position is based in Torrance, California.ResponsibilitiesAs Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will:Champion continuous improvement in our product designs and in our mechanical engineering practices, identifying and implementing improvements.Design new antenna products and components, and then develop your concepts into CREO models and mechanical drawings to capture design details.Conduct root cause analysis investigations for product mechanical issues, and then recommend, implement, and document corrective actions.Document product design and manufacturing process changes through Engineering Change Orders.Incorporate design for manufacturing principles into product designs.Lead environmental test planning, execution, and documentation efforts.Support new business development through evaluating proposed mechanical requirements, generating compliance matrices, and generating technical responses to requests for proposal (RFPs).Support sales, product management, and operations by addressing customer questions, completing feasibility studies, supporting customer calls, and troubleshooting issuesCollaborate with other Hexagon mechanical engineering teams to implement common engineering processes and best practicesQualificationsMust-Have:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent four-year engineering degree.Minimum 10 years relevant work experience.Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) for mechanical design.Experience designing products for the aerospace and/or defense industries.Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stackup analysisKnowledge of robustness standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)Applicants for select positions that require access to information controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") or the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR") must be US Persons per ITAR §120.15 and EAR §772.1 (i.e., a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or admitted to the U.S. as an asylee or refugee), or be otherwise eligible to obtain required authorization from the U.S.
