Position Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager provides technical and project leadership for the development and delivery of advanced semiconductor gas abatement systems.

  • Lead complex engineering projects from concept through commercialization, meeting scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety goals.
  • Guide the design, integration, validation, and continuous improvement of wet scrubbing, thermal destruction, and related process technologies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and align solutions with customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
  • Advance the product roadmap through collaboration with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and service teams.



Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

  • Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of advanced semiconductor gas abatement systems and associated technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in mechanical and process system design, providing technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Perform engineering analysis, including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, structural assessments, and system performance evaluations.
  • Research, evaluate, and specify materials, components, and technologies to optimize product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for complex technical issues affecting product performance, quality, or customer satisfaction.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Serviceability (DFS), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.


Project Management & Execution

  • Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve technical, schedule, and resource challenges to ensure successful project execution.
  • Drive accountability for project deliverables while maintaining focus on quality, safety, and customer expectations.
  • Facilitate design reviews, project gate reviews, and executive project updates.


Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge transfer.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Support engineering best practices, design standards, documentation processes, and project management methodologies.
  • Lead by example in technical rigor, professionalism, customer focus, and problem-solving.


Product Development & Validation

  • Experience in laboratory testing, pilot studies, field evaluations, and product validation efforts.
  • Establish test plans, acceptance criteria, and validation protocols to verify system performance and reliability.
  • Analyze test data and implement engineering improvements based on findings.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts and transition designs into production.
  • Develop manufacturing documentation, operating procedures, installation instructions, and service documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, process equipment design, or industrial systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex engineering projects from concept through production release.
  • Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and risk management.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials engineering.
  • Experience designing and integrating mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation, and control system components.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and 3D modeling tools; SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.


Preferred

  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, gas abatement systems, scrubbers, thermal oxidizers, or chemical process equipment.
  • Experience with PLC controls, instrumentation, and industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with pressure systems, hazardous gas handling, environmental compliance, and process safety principles.
