Lead Mechanical Design EngineerAs a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer here at Client, you will spearhead the mechanical design and development of advanced aerospace components and systems, ensuring innovative, reliable, and high-performance solutions that meet stringent industry standards and customer expectations. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the advancement of aerospace technologies by leading design efforts, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and driving the successful integration of mechanical systems into cutting-edge aerospace products.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the mechanical design and development of aerospace components and systems from concept through productionCollaborate with systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with aerospace standardsDevelop and review detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and design documentationConduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses to ensure robust and reliable designsMentor and guide junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the mechanical design teamEngage with customers and suppliers to align design requirements and resolve technical challengesYou Must HaveBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical fieldExtensive experience in mechanical design engineering within aerospace or related industries, focusing on complex component and system designProficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS APDL or ANSYS WorkbenchProficiency in 1D Beam based FEA techniqueProficiency in Rotor Dynamics & Shafting Structural AnalysesAbility to lead design reviews, conduct risk assessments, and mentor engineering teams effectivelyProven leadership experience in managing mechanical design projects in aerospace environmentsWe ValueStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailFamiliarity with systems engineering principles and cross-disciplinary collaborationExperience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and aerospace certification processesKnowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards such as AS9100 and MIL-STDExperience with design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and mechanical testing methodologiesNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
