Lead Level Electrical Designer - Kiewit Power EngineeringLocation: Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; Phoenix/Tempe, AZ; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN; Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in office arrangement once the new office is established.Position Overview: Lead Electrical Designer supporting EPC project design work for power generation projects. Responsible for managing a design team in the development of electrical raceway systems. Interfaces with other disciplines, engineering and construction throughout the life of the project. Manages budget schedules and resources.Responsibilities:Responsible for managing a group of electrical designers in the development of electrical raceway systemsResponsible for managing electrical design activities against project schedule and budgetTracks and reports on design progression to project management and other members of the projectCompletes monthly reports for quantities, schedule and forecastingInterface with construction to ensure design is safe, constructible, and low costCoordinates with other disciplines, engineers and construction on the designAbility to check design deliverables for accuracy, quality and adherence to department standardsUtilize applicable engineering national and local codesCoordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functionsCompletes miscellaneous tasks to support project developmentActs as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issuesMentors design teamQualifications:At least 8 years' experience in electrical designExperience leading electrical design teamsExperience managing budget and schedulePower generation experience, preferredExperience in SmartPlant 3DMust be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment.Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environmentAbility to work independently with limited direction and oversightStrong written and verbal communication skillsWorking Conditions:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentPerform work safely and effectively.
