To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Lead Java Engineer will own architecture across products and platforms, introduce new technologies and best practices, and mentor engineers while working remotely in Canada. Key responsibilities Define and evolve platform and application architecture, leading architecture reviews and influencing roadmaps Evaluate and introduce new technologies, establishing best practices in design, testing, and production readiness Partner across teams to resolve complex initiatives and drive alignment among stakeholders Required qualifications Ten years of overall experience, with at least five years as a Staff or Principal engineer at B2B SaaS startups Strong working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, GCP, Azure, and modern frontend frameworks Proven success in setting architectural direction and making durable technical decisions across multiple teams Experience with global cloud systems and production operations at scale, including FedRAMP certification support A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
