Java Developer (Market Data & FIX Protocol)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Java Developer with 5-10 years of professional experience to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical applications in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java development skills, experience building enterprise applications, and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Experience with Market Data systems and/or FIX Protocol is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support Java-based applications and services
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Collaborate with business users, developers, QA, and infrastructure teams
• Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices
• Support production releases and deployments
• Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Work on systems requiring high reliability, concurrency, and performance

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of professional Java development experience
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles
• Strong experience developing multithreaded and concurrent applications
• Solid understanding of Java concurrency concepts, including thread safety, synchronization, concurrent collections, executors, and performance considerations
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
• Experience with Git or equivalent source control systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Electronic Trading environments
• Knowledge of Market Data systems, market structure, and exchange connectivity
• Experience with FIX Protocol and trading connectivity
• Experience with messaging technologies and distributed systems
• Experience supporting production applications
• Experience developing high-performance or low-latency applications
• Experience working with real-time systems

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and supporting mission-critical applications in production environments.

Candidates with experience in Market Data, electronic trading systems, or FIX connectivity are highly desirable. However, strong Java developers with proven experience in concurrency, distributed systems, and production support will also be considered.
