Responsibilities

  1. Perform a professional needs analysis and record customer information in the computer system
  2. Assist customers with the selection, implementation, and installation of turfgrass.
  3. Identify appropriate solutions for diagnosing and resolving common turf problems.
  4. Provide guidance and consultation on basic turfgrass related maintenance.
  5. Respond to requests from customers and assist with operational demonstration and product handling.
  6. Engage in technical discussions with potential customers through demonstrations and presentations.
  7. Represent company at trade shows and meetings to promote product.
  8. Prepare and grade the grounds for the installation of turf.
  9. Lay turf using necessary equipment and tools.
  10. Apply fertilizer, pesticide treatments, and top dressing as needed to maintain the health and appearance of the turf.
  11. Perform regular watering and irrigation maintenance schedules.
  12. Repair or replace turf as necessary.
  13. Ensure customer satisfaction with product, installation, and performance.
  14. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in exposure to direct sunlight and weather 90% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This role routinely uses standard landscaping equipment such as mowers, forklifts, and sprayers as well as other manual harvesting equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, and climbing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday work required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires up to 90% travel.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Associate’s degree or equivalent in business or sales experience
  2. Experience with turfgrass sod and seed in a retail setting.

Hourly Pay Range

$16—$20 USD
