This position is based at EL Paso, TX area office. The position is a unique opportunity to join a company that designs, builds, and operates new-technology-based telecom networks in the education, healthcare, enterprise, and carrier industries throughout the U.S. Work in a challenging, environment that maintains the highest levels of integrity and reliability.What you will be doingThis role will perform tasks involving aerial and ground telecommunications work at construction/service sites and may operate aerial truck and associated equipment with handling telecom line components.Lead and motivate crew to meet OSHA safety requirements, project specifications and daily production goals.Safely operator boom truck, climb poles as needed and utilize standard tools of the trade.Ability and willingness to follow direction from Supervision.Willingness to work both individually and in a team environment.Communicate professionally with co-workers, homeowners, and customers.Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair overhead fiber lines.Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.Understand separation and clearance regulations.Install poles and place wires and cables.Keep detailed record of work activity.Basic tools required: Climbing tools (belt & gaffs), basic hand tools, etc.Ability to utilize bucket trucks, crawl spaces, ladders, ceilings, tunnels, and trenches to access various installation and construction points as required.Ability to work aloft, either from a ladder, aerial lift device or by gaffing.Ability to climb numerous telephone poles daily, approx. 20' in height.Ability to lift and/or pull 100lbs several times per day.Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting, or walking.Ability to bend, twist, squat and reach above the head several times per day.Continuous use of both hands to operate hand tools and perform other duties.Ability to work full-time, in an outdoor environment and in all weather conditions.What you will needTechnicians must have good attention to detail and reading comprehension skillsTechnicians must be able to follow geographical & driving directions and be able to apply those written directions to mapped locations and addressesGIS programming and background is a plusCustomer Service skills and professional manner required, when dealing with contractorsMemorize, focus, and pay attention to detailMultitask while maintaining integrity and service qualityEffectively observe, listen, and understandLearn company specific software applicationsStrong problem solving/troubleshooting skillsStrong map skillsMust be able to efficiently use Outlook and manage emailsMust be self-motivated, able to work under pressure with little supervisionMust be able to prioritize work schedule and workload efficientlyHigh Scholl diploma or G.E.D; BS/BA degree at plusWhat we offerCore values that embody teamwork, integrity, and excellenceA super talented team who values hard work, success, and fun :)Work/ Life BalancePremium health benefits (medical, dental, vision, flex spending, etc.)Flexible and generous PTO schedule + paid holiday schedule401K programDiversity & InclusionConterra celebrates and supports diversity for the benefit of our employees, our business, and our community.
