Lead GroundskeeperIn the role of Lead Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site operations supporting the Groundskeeping Manager in maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of outdoor areas within the Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH) community. To perform well in this role, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in heavy landscape planning and execution, snow removal, and extensive knowledge about the care and maintenance of plants and outdoor spaces.Benefits (Note: some benefits require full-time status)Employee MedicalDental and Vision Insurance401(k) MatchingHoliday PayPaid Time OffLife InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability InsuranceResponsibilitiesOversee that daily functions are completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards:Mow, edge and trim lawns and landscaped areasPlant, maintain, and remove plants, flowers, and treesWater and fertilize lawns and landscaped areasPrune and shape bushes and treesRemove debris and litter from groundsPerform irrigation repairs and adjustmentsPrepare and maintain flower beds and gardens seasonallyRepair and maintain hardscapes, walls, walkway, and other structures on the groundsRemove snow and ice from walkways and roads within the community (shovel and/or plow)Assist the Groundskeeping Manager with the development and implementation of best practicesCommunicate with the Groundskeeping Manager and co-workers to maintain schedules and coordinate/ prioritize daily tasks for grounds teamGuide team members when requested or necessary in a positive and constructive manner and in accordance with departmental protocolsUtilize the work order software to track and manage tasks to completionProficiently and safely operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools including motorized UTV, Skid Steer machine, and SnowblowerQualificationsFluency in English with good communication skills3+ years of experience in leading a team in a landscape-related fieldKnowledge of basic horticulture practices and principlesExpertise with groundskeeping equipment and toolsStrong knowledge of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipmentAbility to work flexible hours, occasional holidays, on-call; be available for emergency repairs as requiredWalking, climbing stairs, bending, squatting, and pushing a wheelchair containing a 150 lb. residentPhysical ability to lift and carry 60 lbs.
