Owning the federal compliance content for Vanta's platform, the full-time Lead Federal Compliance Expert will interpret and author guidance for FedRAMP and NIST frameworks, ensuring precise, actionable compliance standards for a diverse range of clients in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Build and manage federal compliance frameworks, including controls and implementation guidance for various standards Interpret controls at a technical level, ensuring clarity in customer responsibility matrices and evidence expectations Author automated tests and continuous monitoring specifications, collaborating with engineering to implement detection mechanisms Required qualifications 8-10+ years of experience in GRC and/or Information Security, with hands-on federal compliance work Demonstrated fluency with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and related compliance frameworks Familiarity with OSCAL or machine-readable compliance approaches Proven ability to design functional tests with defined criteria for compliance controls Active use of AI in GRC tasks, including automation and data-driven workflows
