Responsibilities
Maintain the integrity of all building systems and operate the building efficiently.
- Perform a variety of tenant services while fostering positive tenant relations according to Vanderbilt Office Properties’ operational and safety procedures.
- Operate and adjust controls to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the system.
- Record system operations in logs and maintain engines, machinery, and equipment.
- Direct and coordinate activities of workers in operating and maintaining the system.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and environmental regulations.
- Promote safe working conditions and occupational health of personnel.
- Be available on-site during the Government\'s regular working hours and within one hour after hours.
- Maintain property in a first-class condition, inspect all areas, communicate deficiencies, and take initiative to correct issues.
- Focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment.
- Control daily operations of all mechanical equipment in the plant and building.
- Inspect building systems to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
- Maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.
- Communicate with the Chief Engineer and Property Management about external work assistance.
- Respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues.
- Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects.
- Comply with corporate safety procedures and access control regulations.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, including building evacuations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Clearance Required: TS/SCI
- Must have and/or be willing to obtain Security + V7 and Network Plus certification, within 45 days.
- Engineer license 1st class for chief, 3rd class for lead.
- 10+ years in large government facilities or similar.
- Regular work hours 6-3.
- Be on emergency call availability: 24/7.
- OSHA 30.
- Active driver\'s license.
- Security + V7 and Network Plus certification.
- Employees in this classification must possess and maintain a current license as a Stationary Engineer, First Grade from the State Board of Stationary Engineers Washington DC and Maryland.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required.
- Experience with managing similar contracts that provide comprehensive maintenance of facilities.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
