This is not a GenAI wrapper. We’re pushing the boundaries of agentic infrastructure, building long-term memory and reasoning layers specific to homes, and tying them to real-world systems like bills, service providers, legal records, maintenance, etc. .. showcasing AI that is grounded in real consumer utility, and designed to be used by everyone.

We’re an early-stage team backed by operators who’ve built and sold category-defining companies. We’re in Alpha with a group of homeowners and moving fast toward a public launch. This is a ground-floor opportunity to architect the systems behind a new AI-native category.

The Role

We’re hiring an Engineering Lead to architect and ship the core Cassi experience. This is a hybrid role: part senior IC, part engineering manager. You’ll write code, lead execution, and define technical processes from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the CEO and design/product to bring the vision to life: a GenAI-native interface that ingests unstructured chaos and turns it into structured, actionable control.

We are not looking for a theoretical architect. We are looking for someone who builds fast, ships weekly, leads by example, and installs process and systems that lift team velocity and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Write production-grade code alongside a small engineering team, focusing on both backend and mobile
• Own architectural decisions, code quality, and development standards across the stack
• Drive execution across weekly sprints, instilling engineering rhythm, accountability, and review practices
• Define and implement core infrastructure around document parsing, memory systems, async UX, notifications, and agentic workflows
• Partner with product to translate specs into reality and debug product unknowns in real time
• Build the engineering hiring foundation: recruiting, interviewing, and mentoring early engineers

You Are

• A senior IC who has owned end-to-end systems at a startup or high-growth company
• Fluent in modern backend infrastructure (e.g., Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL, cloud infra) and mobile app development (e.g., React Native)
• Experienced (or deeply curious) in AI infrastructure: prompt engineering, embeddings, memory graphs, retrieval, chaining
• Obsessed with quality, fast execution, and high leverage … your instincts are architectural but your habits are shipping
• Comfortable being the first one in the room and building systems and teams from zero
• Process-minded: you know how to balance speed with reliability, and you’ve run agile or sprint rituals in small teams
