We’re working with a a fast growing business based in Birmingham, Alabama that is scaling its engineering capability and has a Lead Engineer role with fast and real progression opportunities to Director. This could be suitable for any candidates from Senior .NET Developer to Engineering Director.
This is a hands‑on development role to start, before becoming more leadership focussed over time. You’ll be working across backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, helping to shape a modern, scalable platform built in Microsoft Azure.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and maintain backend services using .NET and C#
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices
- Work within a Microsoft Azure cloud environment
- Support cloud‑native application design and deployment
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver new features
- Contribute to code quality, testing, and continuous improvement practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as part of an Agile team
What we’re looking for
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET development
- Experience building APIs and distributed systems
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud architecture
- Familiarity with SQL databases and data integration concepts
- Leadership experience, managing software engineers
- Ability to mentor engineer, contribute to architectural discussions and help define the product roudmap.
Nice to have
- Exposure to containerisation such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Understanding of observability and monitoring practices
