In this role, you will support the design and development of advanced space-qualified digital hardware for mission-critical applications. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative spacecraft and payload digital solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment where concepts move into production reality.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in spacecraft electrical digital subsystem design, including digital architecture development, circuit simulation, detailed analysis, hardware verification, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position will play a key role in supporting current and future programs, internal research and development efforts, and strategic growth initiatives.Essential Functions:Lead the design and development of advanced digital and mixed-signal hardware using sound electrical engineering principles and best practices.Support all phases of hardware development, including requirements analysis, architecture definition, detailed design, schematic capture, simulation, documentation, manufacturing, integration, and verification.Translate customer and system-level requirements into detailed electrical specifications and power architectures while balancing technical, cost, and Design and analyze digital and mixed-signal circuit topologies, including:Processor and microcontroller-based circuitsFPGA, CPLD, and digital array designsMemory and storage interfacesADC and DAC interface circuitsHigh-speed digital communication interfacesClock generation and distribution circuitsData acquisition and control circuitsMixed-signal interface circuitsReset, monitoring, and supervisory circuitsPerform detailed analysis of digital circuits for:Timing and marginThermal performanceSignal integrityPower integrityRadiation effectsEMI/EMCComponent deratingTroubleshoot and resolve hardware issues at the component, board, module, payload, and system levels.Use laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, source meters, electronic loads, signal generators, multimeters, and DC power supplies to validate designs and investigate issues.Conduct trade studies and develop conceptual digital solutions in support of proposals, IRAD, and new business opportunities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program leadership.Evaluate component tolerances and environmental impacts to ensure robust design margins for high-reliability applications in harsh operating environments.Support risk reduction and mitigation activities related to obsolescence, cost, producibility, and long-lead materials.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another relevant STEM fieldorGraduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experienceExperience designing and developing digital hardware systemsExperience with high-speed or dense processing hardware architecturesExperience with hardware integration, verification, and debugExperience working in a collaborative engineering development environmentPreferred Qualifications:Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearanceExperience with mission definition, concept generation, trade studies, preliminary and final design, component selection, integration, test support, materials selection, and design documentationExperience developing qualified deliverable power hardware for space, aerospace, defense, medical, or other mission-critical applicationsExperience working with manufacturing and production teams in a program environmentExperience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Review Boards (FRB)Experience presenting technical material to program leadership, customers, and review boardsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively across technical teams and leadership levelsExperience serving as a subcontract technical representative, including supplier evaluation, statement of work development, and technical oversight of external deliverablesExperience with digital hardware design for phased array antenna systems, including beamforming control, high-speed data conversion, timing and synchronization, RF control interfaces, and mixed-signal circuit card assembly integration.Experience in one or more of the following areas including:Space-based hardware designHigh-speed digital designFPGA-based systemsProcessor and memory subsystem designDSP-based hardwareNetworking hardwareMixed-signal electronicsExperience designing, integrating, and analyzing high-speed electrical and optical interfaces and protocols, including:10/25 Gb EthernetPCI Express Gen 2/3/4/5Electrical-to-optical conversionOptical-to-electrical conversionFiber-optic transceiver integrationExperience with ECAD and analysis tools including: LTSpicePSpiceCadenceSiemens XpeditionHyperlynx 25.10Experience integrating firmware/software with hardware in lab and system environmentsMATLAB, Python, or similar programming experience for modeling, analysis, and automation#LI-LS4Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.  Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.  In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
