Lead Electrical Engineer in Nationwide

We're looking for an Lead Electrical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering team, delivering innovative electrical design solutions across major industrial and infrastructure programmes. The Role

As a Lead Electircal Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering electrical engineering designs across a range of multidisciplinary projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers and clients, you'll provide technical leadership while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support, helping to develop practical and innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of electrical engineering design packages on complex engineering projects.
nProduce and review keytechnicaldeliverables, including:
nSingle Line Diagrams
nCable Block Diagrams
nLoad Schedules
nMCC Specifications
nControl Philosophies
nControl Network Architecture
nCoordinate and support multidisciplinary engineering teams.
nEnsure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and client requirements.
nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
nSupport project planning, programme delivery and budget management.
nParticipate in design reviews, technical workshops and engineering assurance activities.
nBuild strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
nSupport technical proposals, bids and tender submissions.
nContribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and technical standards.

About You

You'll ideally have:

A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
nChartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or be working towards professional registration.
nProven experience leading electrical design within industrial, process or infrastructure projects.
nStrong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control systems and electrical design principles.
nExperience producing detailed electrical design documentation.
nKnowledge of:
nEarthing and bonding
nLightning protection
nLighting design
nDSEAR and ATEX installation practices
nExperience using electrical design software such as Trimble ProDesign, Amtech or similar.
nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
nA proactive approach with strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Desirable

Experience within the UK water sector.
nKnowledge of WIMES standards.
nPrevious consultancy experience.
nExperience contributing to bids and business development activities.
