Lead Diesel MechanicKeep a high-performing fleet moving safelyLSP Transport is hiring a Lead Diesel Mechanic to support our Chickasha, Oklahoma terminal. In this role, you'll combine hands-on diesel repair expertise with shop leadership to help keep our fleet safe, compliant, and road-ready. You'll guide maintenance technicians and third-party repair partners, support preventive maintenance programs, and work closely with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to reduce downtime and maintain high safety standards.If you're a skilled diesel mechanic who enjoys solving problems, leading by example, and keeping equipment operating at its best, we want to hear from you.What you'll doLead daily maintenance support for the Chickasha terminal and assigned locationsDirect and supervise LSP Transport maintenance technicians and third-party repair shopsEnsure maintenance and non-maintenance work is completed on schedule and according to company proceduresInspect completed work and provide coaching or corrective feedback when neededDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain company tractors, trailers, and related equipmentComplete scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and prove trailersMaintain accurate maintenance logs and service recordsTrain and support technicians and third-party maintenance personnelPerform work safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company safety standardsAssist with additional shop and terminal responsibilities as assignedWhat we're looking forStrong diesel diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair experienceLeadership ability with a hands-on, team-first approachStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsCommitment to safety, quality, and timely completion of workComfortable using computers and Windows-based systemsRequired skillsProficiency with PC and Windows operating systemsExperience using diagnostic tools such as Cummins Insite, Bendix, Meritor, or equivalent softwareExperience using Paccar ESA, DAVIE4, or similar diagnostic equipmentWelding experienceEducation and experience3+ years of direct, hands-on experience working on tank trailers, van trailers, flatbed trailers, and related parts and systemsAssociate degree in Automotive Technology or a related field orHigh school diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years of direct, hands-on experience as a commercial Class 8 tractor mechanicPreferred qualificationsCurrent CDL with tanker and hazardous materials endorsementsPhysical requirementsRegularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hearClimb steps and ladders as neededWork in sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, or prone positionsWork with hands above headRegularly lift and/or move equipment and fittings up to 50 poundsPush/pull up to 75 poundsPerform safe lifting from floor to knuckle up to 50 pounds and floor to chest up to 50 poundsUse hands to handle tools, controls, and equipment with precision and dexterityMaintain close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustmentWork environmentWork is performed in a shop and terminal environmentOccasional exposure to outdoor weather conditionsOccasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and cold conditionsNoise level is usually moderateAbout LSP Transport and LSPILSP Transport, LLC is the in-house trucking fleet and a wholly owned subsidiary of LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc.
