Advocate Health is seeking a Lead CRNA to support clinical excellence and provide local leadership within our anesthesia team. This role combines hands-on clinical care with leadership responsibilities, partnering closely with physician and operational leaders to support team performance, engagement, and patient outcomes.

SCHEDULE

  • Rotating schedule with flexible shift options: 9-, 11-, or 13-hour shifts (or combination)
  • Dedicated leadership time (~10% of role)

Qualifications

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), NBCRNA-certified
  • Active RN/APRN licensure (state-specific)
  • DEA registration (prior to hire)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire
  • Strong clinical skills, leadership ability, and communication skills

Leadership

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with physician and operational leaders to optimize workflows and clinical practice
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and mentorship of CRNAs and APPs
  • Participate in performance reviews and team development
  • Lead engagement initiatives and promote a positive team culture
  • Serve as a key liaison between frontline clinicians and leadership

Clinical

  • Provide full-scope anesthesia care across a variety of patient populations
  • Develop and manage patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care and accurate documentation
  • Support coordinated care and communication across care teams

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

  • Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, and excellent decision‑making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish\/build relationships with others.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
