We're looking for a talented content designer and strong design thinker to join our User Experience (UX) team.

As part of the UX team at Cvent, content designers bring empathy, delight, and a human-centered approach to UX design. We do more than just look at the words. We advocate for our users by collaborating with product designers, researchers, product managers, and more to craft a product narrative that guides users through our products and gets them the information they need when they need it. If you love crafting compelling narratives, solving complex user problems, and making microcopy sound clear and human—we want to talk to you!

In this role, you will:

  • Drive and advocate for content design and User Experience (UX) throughout the organization
  • Drive vision and strategy for product language and content across all platforms
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline team with the shared goal of improving the product experience and meeting our users' needs
  • Collaborate on projects while also working independently on deliverables
  • Mentor and guide junior designers and contribute to their career development plans
  • Lead workshops, brainstorming sessions, and design critiques
  • Write conversational microcopy that's inclusive, accessible, and localized for all audiences
  • Take complicated information and create easy-to-understand product copy that enhances usability and the product narrative
  • Articulate how your content decisions meet business objectives, user needs, and impact company revenue
  • Review, edit, and develop internal processes and documents
  • Support the maintenance of, and contribute to, our growing set of content guidelines
  • Partner with user researcher to research, analyze, and test content to create text that can be reused throughout the platform

Here's what you need:

  • A portfolio that shows off your content design and design thinking skills
  • Content design experience with a focus on software applications
  • Passion for creating a great user experience and improving people's lives through design and technology
  • Experience working with product designers, engineers, and product managers
  • Understand human-centered content design principles and techniques
  • Comfortable working alone and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to see the big picture, but also pay attention to the details
  • Sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage personal and project timelines
  • Someone who can lead and mentor junior content designers
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Interest in growth, learning, and receiving feedback to improve skills
  • Strong eye for grammar and a deep respect for content style, voice and tone, and empathy
  • Working knowledge of Figma
  • Working knowledge of software agile teams, design software, programming, databases, and mobile technology

Experience and background:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Writing, Communications, Design, or related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in Content Design, UX Writing, or related field (we're looking for the right person, even if they don't fit every requirement)
