Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Consultant – GIS with strong expertise in ArcGIS Utility Network and fiber network modeling within the Energy / Oil & Gas (Upstream) domain. The ideal candidate will lead GIS solution design, architecture, and implementation, with a focus on fiber network systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end GIS solution design and architecture for large-scale utility and energy clients
  • Design and implement ArcGIS Utility Network (UN) architecture for fiber networks
  • Develop physical fiber data models including:
    • Cables, strands, splice points, and devices
  • Define:
    • Domain networks, tiers, subnetworks
    • Network rules and associations
  • Design network redundancy, path diversity, and automated impact analysis
  • Establish global naming conventions and GIS modeling standards
  • Perform capacity planning and infrastructure recommendations
  • Support transition from project delivery to operations/support
  • Evaluate ESRI-compatible third-party tools (e.g., NetTerrain)
  • Work with data sources such as CAD files (.DWG/.DXF) and KMZ files
  • Produce detailed architecture and design documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies
