Onsite Contract Construction and Extraction Occupations

Ready to Lead, Not Just Show Up?If you're the carpenter everyone else on the crew already looks to for direction — the one who catches the mistake before it happens, who doesn't need someone standing over your shoulder to get it right — we want to talk to you. Onesta General Contracting is a fast-growing general contractor built on one simple idea: do what you say, and do it honestly. We work on commercial and multifamily renovation and tenant improvement projects across the Puget Sound, and we're looking for a Lead Carpenter who can run the day-to-day production on our job sites with minimal oversight, represent us well in front of clients, and bring the rest of the crew up with them. Why You'll Want This Job Real trust. You won't be micromanaged. We hand you the job and expect you to run it right — that's the deal. A team that has your back. High accountability doesn't mean high-stress. We support our people so they can do their best work. Room to grow. As we grow, the carpenters who lead well today are the superintendents and supervisors of tomorrow. Competitive pay based on experience, plus paid vacation, holidays, and health benefits. Responsibilities: • What You'll Be Doing You're the most experienced trade hand on site — the one directing the work, not just doing it. Leading and directing carpenters, laborers, and helpers on daily tasks Reading plans and making sure the work matches what the client and architect actually asked for Running rough framing (walls, floors, roofs) and finish carpentry (millwork, trim, doors, baseboards) to a high standard Catching problems — deficiencies, damaged framework, anything off-spec — before they turn into callbacks Training up the carpenters and laborers around you so the whole crew gets better over time Keeping the jobsite safe, clean, and organized Communicating daily progress and needs to the Site Superintendent or Project Manager — without needing to be chased down for it Being the person clients and building management see on-site and trust to represent Onesta well Qualifications: • Who We're Looking For This role is built for someone who's self-motivated and doesn't need hand-holding to get the job done right. 4+ years of hands-on carpentry experience — both rough framing and finish work Experience leading or directing other carpenters or laborers (formally or informally) Strong blueprint-reading skills A track record of clean, high-quality work with few or no callbacks Comfortable being the point of contact on-site for clients and building management Able to work independently and make good calls without waiting for someone to tell you what to do Own reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and your own hand tools • What Makes You an A-Player Here Comfortable operating power tools and related equipment safely You take ownership — of the schedule, the quality, and the outcome You solve problems instead of passing them up the chain You show up prepared and set the pace for the crew, not the other way around You represent Onesta with the same honesty and professionalism whether or not anyone's watching You'd rather build something you're proud of than just get through the day If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you. Compensation: $65,000 - $95,000 yearly
