This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing boiler, burner, and control systems, as well as leading field service technicians and ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a safety-focused environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerform startup, inspection, maintenance, and repair of:Boilers (steam and hot water)Burners and combustion systemsControls and instrumentationBoiler room auxiliary equipment (deaerators, blowdown separators, feedwater tanks, water softeners, chemical systems, etc.)Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and conduct root cause analysis to determine appropriate repairsIdentify, source, and order necessary replacement partsExecute system calibration according to manufacturer specificationsCommunicate findings, recommendations, and operational improvements clearly to customersLead, mentor, and oversee work performed by field service techniciansEnsure jobs are completed on schedule and keep customers informed of any delaysComplete work orders and service documentation accurately and in a timely mannerMaintain company vehicle, tools, parts inventory, and safety equipmentTravel to customer sites as requiredIdentify opportunities for system upgrades or parts sales to improve efficiency and system longevity for customers.Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service requests, which may require overtime and occasional travel.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.10+ years of experience in maintenance, inspection, and repair of boiler systems and related equipmentStrong knowledge of:Boiler systems (steam and hot water)Combustion systems and controlsElectrical and mechanical troubleshootingDemonstrated ability to read and interpret CAD prints, electrical schematics, and technical manualsProven experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actionsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailValid driver's license and ability to travel to job sitesProficiency in using various diagnostic tools and testing equipment.Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in a lead or supervisory technician roleOEM or manufacturer training certificationsExperience supporting both light commercial and heavy industrial environmentsSkills & CompetenciesExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesTime management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesCommitment to safety and operational excellenceWork Schedule & RequirementsAbility to work nights, weekends, and on-call rotations for emergency service and planned shutdownsWillingness to travel to regional customer sitesParticipation in ongoing technical and safety training programPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.Comfortable working in industrial environments and potentially uncomfortable conditions.Must be able to climb ladders, crawl, and work in tight spaces.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive hourly rate based on experience.Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Company vehicle, phone, and necessary tools provided.Opportunities for professional development and training.
