Senior / Lead Appian DeveloperLocation: US (Onshore) – Pacific and Central regions only.
Experience Level: 6+ years (at least 4+ years in Appian BPM)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Appian Developer to lead the design, development, and delivery of Appian-based BPM solutions. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Appian, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive automation and digital transformation initiatives. The candidate will serve as a technical lead and mentor to the Appian development team while ensuring best practices and high-quality delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesLead Appian solution design and architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.Oversee and guide the development of Appian objects (records, process models, interfaces, rules, constants, reports, and sites).Define and enforce development standards, governance, and code review processes.Mentor and coach junior and mid-level Appian developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Collaborate with business analysts, architects, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure smooth project execution.Lead integration of Appian with external systems using APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), RDBMS, and custom plug-ins.Drive performance tuning and troubleshooting of Appian applications.Engage in client/stakeholder discussions, providing technical guidance and roadmap recommendations.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.6 to 10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 4+ years of strong Appian BPM development.Strong proficiency in: Appian SAIL UI, Records, Reports, Sites, Process Models, Rules, and Data Management. Appian plug-ins, Smart Services, Connected Systems, and Integration Objects. Designing complex workflows, exception handling, and security models in Appian.Solid knowledge of SQL, RDBMS, REST/SOAP web services, and API integrations.Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsAppian Level 2 or Level 3 certification.Exposure to Java, JavaScript, Python or similar for building custom plug-ins/integrations.Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
