Role Overview: The Layout Design Engineer develops non-standard machine system drawings & documents per sales request. Assists the Manager with scheduling and technical details.

  1. Obtain machine location and customer site-specific requirements from sales.
  2. Design machine layout using sales information and machine units/parts library.
  3. Present layout/foundation to automation team for further discussion and approval by customer.
  4. Release and properly store finished layouts through WindChill and SAP.
  5. Define schedule for layouts, foundation drawings, and BOMs, and communicate schedules to the automation team.
  6. Support project engineers during the definition and evaluation of layout and foundation drawings.
  7. Document special configurations and keep track of drawing contents.

Experience

  • Experience in an engineering role or related experience.
  • Knowledge creating 3D and 2D drawings (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
  • Worked in a team environment.

Education

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.

Skills

  • Flexible approach to tasks, open-minded and adaptable to change.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication of technical details.
  • Attention to detail and understanding of technical requirements.
