Law Firm Strategic Pricing Director

Munck Wilson Mandala, LLP is seeking a Law Firm Strategic Pricing Manager or Director to develop, execute and monitor pricing and project management strategies to enhance operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and firm profitability.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sophisticated and creative pricing strategies, including AFAs (alternative fee arrangements).
• Structure competitive, profitable, and client-aligned pricing arrangements.
• Lead and manage pricing requests and refine pricing infrastructure.
• Evaluate market trends and identify opportunities with respect to bill rates, profitability, and value-based billing, and apply learned concepts to help improve the firm’s pricing and legal project management capabilities.
• Support annual client rate review and negotiation processes, ensuring competitive positioning while maintaining firm profitability, including analyzing and recommending rates across markets and practice areas.
• Generate competitive intelligence reports and summarize and present findings to showcase pricing trends.
• Align pricing with revenue recognition, accruals, and client reporting while anticipating litigation/transactional risk drivers.
• Utilize financial modeling to evaluate pricing structures and their impact on the firm’s bottom line, incorporating best practices in financial reporting and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of experience in law firm pricing and legal project management.
• Strong understanding of law firm economics, including rates, billing systems, leverage, realization, and profitability.
• Strong executive presence and confidence in engaging directly with senior partners and C-suite client contacts.
• Extensive financial modeling experience and ability to maintain complex spreadsheets.
• High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with LPM practices and how they intersect with pricing strategy to drive efficiency and client value.
